WHAT IS THE GP SERVICE?
The GP Service is an online doctor service that provides a safe, discreet and simple way for employees to see a doctor from anywhere in the UK*. Employees can be seen within 10 minutes of making an appointment and if a prescription is required, this will be sent electronically to one of over 6,000 pharmacies nationwide within 60 minutes of their consultation for collection, or prescriptions can be delivered to their home address.
WHY SHOULD I PROVIDE THE GP SERVICE?
Current statistics show that 1 in 5 patients are having to wait between 15 to 28 days to see their local GP**. The GP Service allows employees to speak to a GP 7 days a week from 8am – 8pm using any web platform, mobile device or from one of many dedicated terminals set up in hundreds of pharmacies in the UK.
Employers with large workforces on-site can have terminals installed within the workplace to make speaking to a GP using The GP Service even easier.
The GP Service provides quick access to quality and timely care to improve clinical outcomes, address health concerns quicker and ultimately, reduce absenteeism in your workplace.
The GP Service is fully accredited and regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and all doctors are registered with the General Medical Council.
To enable doctors to view key information and make consultations more effective, The GP Service works with the NHS to access Summary Care Records with patient consent. This is currently the only online doctor service that works with the NHS.
HOW DOES THE GP SERVICE WORK?
The GP Service is available for the entire workforce on an annual fixed budget with a simple enrolment process. It is easy to implement and simple for employees to access when they need it.
As an employer, you can decide on the number of employees to cover under the service and choose the frequency of consultations that employees can have. Employees access the service via a secure, encrypted IT platform, which can be accessed via Smart Hive.
You will get access to a reporting engine to measure types of conditions, the health of your workforce and absenteeism patterns.
