INCREASE AWARENESS OF MENTAL WELLBEING
Helping your employees to increase their awareness of mental wellbeing will positively impact their ability to communicate, understand and listen to those around them. A simple and effective way to encourage your employees to understand and support those with ill-mental health is through a Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) course. This is an internationally recognised training course that teaches people how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill-health and to provide help on a first aid basis.
Taking part in a MHFA course will help employees to develop the confidence to explore mental health topics and provide information and support to those around them that may be suffering from poor mental wellbeing. They will gain practical tips and actions that they can use to support and identify those around them that are struggling.
Each MHFA course is delivered to you by a quality assured instructor and is given in 4 half-day sessions, over two weeks. This will be 2 live sessions and 2 self-learning sessions.
All learners are supported by the instructor during the sessions as you talk about strategies to look after individual mental health as mental health first aiders.
MHFA courses help employees to look at the stigma and language around mental health, being encouraged to think about their own perceptions of mental health and challenge misconceptions to grow their understanding. Mental Health first aiders should finish feeling confident to explore mental health topics and support individuals who may be experiencing poor mental wellbeing.
